Dear Member,
Well here it is again, the end of the year. We have been very busy this year and we just got through doing our year-end reports. We managed to do 17 out of the 20 American Legion and Auxiliary programs.
To list a few things we did this past year; pocket flags, helmet coolers and Thank-you cards were sent to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, we collected manufacture coupons and sent them to Operation Home Front in San Antonio, we erected a flagpole at the Troup Library, we donated a large assortment of school supplies, toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to the Troup Elementary plus gave them over 400 U.S. Flags. We collected pocket change at every meeting and ended up sending $127.78 to the Department for the Auxiliary Emergency Fund, we gave out Grace Cards, gave to the American Legion Children’s Miracle Network, picked up trash on the highways and we did poppies.
I want to thank everyone who participated in our Bakeless Bake Sale. Shirley Mathis’ name was picked; she won a $25.00 gift card from JC Penney.
Our meeting on Tuesday May 6 th at 6:00pm has been rescheduled for May 10 th at 10:00am at the Sadlers Street Church of Christ, located at 22462 County Road 2156. (A map is enclosed)
Also enclosed is a copy of our Constitution and By-Laws.
I urge you to attend as we will be answering questions on the removal of our charter from the post.
We will also elect new officers. Please bring your current membership ID card with you.
